I think this monsoon weather is really incredible in photography. So far, it has never stormed too much or was too dark or even too muted but I haven’t shot too many days in this kind of weather. So pink and warm and the clouds are really ever changing.
This proposal was a labor of love in every way. Their friends accompanied by two dogs drove to Grand Canyon from the Phoenix area and helped set up the shot. I showed Rocky some photos beforehand of where you can see the rocky outcropping from beyond the railing. So they stood behind the railing taking photos of the two which appeared to just be the regular tourist affair until Rocky dropped down to one knee. The rest is pink clouds and epic lighting, thanks to the monsoon.
