Leave no trace, take only photographs 🙂

These adventure photography sessions are perfect for adventure families engagements, anniversaries, honeymoons, or just because you feel like it.

Duration: 1-3 hours

Meeting location:

We will meet at  Grand Canyon South Rim. Grand Canyon’s Visitor Center 3 hours before sunset. Sunset times change throughout the year.

Adventure Photography Tour Location:

Every season is different at Grand Canyon, where the sun sets on the Grand Canyon horizon is ever changing. We will decide on the location via email. All locations are on Grand Canyon’s South Rim. As a local Grand Canyon resident, I will take you on a walk through the pinon juniper forest to an unmarked view at the rim of the canyon. The location we will walk to is untouched by man, has no known name but offers unparalleled views and photo opportunities that only a local would know about. The walk portion of this tour will be flat-ish, we will not gain or lose any elevation and we walk for 10-20 minutes

Why me?

I know what adventure photography sessions should be like and I have lived at Grand Canyon National Park for 10 years. On a regular basis, I am searching for ways to enjoy Grand Canyon without all of the visitors. With over 6 million people visiting Grand Canyon a year, it’s harder and harder to find a personal connection with this place nevermind taking a photo without a visitor in the frame.  From years of living here, I have that personal connection. I am in love with Grand Canyon and I want to share it with you. I hold a Wilderness First Responder Certification and am a certified guide with the National Association for Interpretation.

What is included:

3-5 hours custom adventure photography session with a local resident :). My rate is all-inclusive, included in my price is the time it takes to actually take the photos, the post production/ processing of the photos (usually this takes me about the same amount of time as it takes to physically take the photos). the rights to the photos and high resolution digital images that you can have printed anywhere you like, at a lower costs than photographers usually charge for printed packages. I mail a memory stick with all of the images in 3-5 days and upload the images to a site you can download from within the month for family and friends and remote access. Most clients will have 100-300 edited images from a session like this.

How to book:

Fill out the contact form on my website.  In order to hold the date, a non-refundable deposit of half is required. Appointments are rain or shine however, if there happens to be a photo session scheduled on a day when there is no break in the weather, I will do my absolute best to offer up any additional availability.  If you are able, I would schedule at least one night at Grand Canyon. Clients who schedule the portrait session only at Grand Canyon, sometimes have trouble if a flight is cancelled or if they do not leave enough time for anything but the portrait run the risk of losing that appointment if the weather is bad for the duration of the scheduled session.

Clothing:

I recommend dressing in layers and clothing that is easy to bend, sit and move in. If you’re planning on wearing heels in photos, have a pair of shoes ready to put on for moving through any uneven ground. The more comfortable that you are, the more genuine the photos will be and the more poses we will do. Earth tones are good, wearing the exact same colors top or bottom, doesn’t work well. It sometimes gets windy at Grand Canyon’s rim, a hair band, hairspray and comb may be desired for long-haired clients.
