Sedona is one of the most awe inspiring locations in the southwest. It kind of became a big deal after fols found the outdoors and instagram made locations like this iconic. These days it can be a busy bust place. There is still a lot of magic and solitude, if you. know where to look and have a photographer likeme helping you.
So you don't need a wedding permit if you are plannin a wedding in most of Sedona AND if there will be less than 75 people attending. You can't have a wedding or even take photos in wilderness designated land and there are still a lot of rules for small elopements in Sedona.
This is an amazing view for sunset year-round, everyone else thinks so as well. Luckily, it's hard to get to. I still recommend sunset on weekdays.
GETTING HERE:
It's a rough 4x4 road to get here and most ATV companies don't allow an ATV rental overnight. You are going to want to plan to have a jeep or rent from the only ATV company that allows overnight rentals in order to have a wedding at Merry Go Round Rock, otherwise you'll be required to return your 4x4 vehicle before sunset. You can work with Pink Jeep to have them drive out to this location as part of a private rental for your wedding.
FAMOUS PHOTOS:
The famous photos through the red rock cave/hole is not the easiest for your photographer or you. IF this is a must for you, you should be comfortable climbing around in your wedding clothing and standing on an exposed edge.
I recommend trying to plan a proposal or elopement for Cathedral Rock on days that you can park in the lot and not have to take the shuttle or otherwise, have a taxi scheduled to drop you off or pick you up. Uber really isn't a thing in Sedona and there are limited private taxi options as well.
GETTING HERE:
You can only park in the lot on certain days and other days, the lot will be closed and you will be required to take the shuttle from the Posse Grounds. Thursday - Sunday, you'll be required to take the shuttle. If you want to drive your own car to Cathedral Rock trailhead, you'll want to leave lots of extra time to drive around waiting for parking spots to become open.
FAMOUS PHOTOS:
The famous photos on the ledge require a hike straight up the slickrock. A lot of people turn around before this juncture, so you'll want to make sure that you can hike it before you decide that this is where you are getting married in Sedona or proposing. Okay so, A LOT of people also do make it to the top. That being said, this is one of the most notorious hikes in all of Sedona. The biggest problem with this is that it funnels a lot of people into a very tiny postage stamp piece of land and this will make having a wedding or proposal at the top less than intimate and private. My advice would be to do those things on the lower reaches of the trail and then take your turn at the top for photos in the iconic edgy locations.
Guess What? You aren't actually allowed to take professional photos on the bridge itself. Although I've done this once in the past, I didn't realize. that it's not allowed. Some photographers are refusing to pay attention to the map which clearly shows the natural bridge as in wilderness. The trail is not, but the bridge is. So I personally won't be doing this. Even if it was allowed, it is so insanely popular now that it's a disneyland affair with people waiting in line just to get a photograph on the Devil's Bridge. It's not the kind of experience that I want for myself or my clients.

Let me start off by stating, we are not people who usually leave reviews but this is one worth leaving !
Terri photographed our engagement in Sedona and wow - the photos are stunning! She did a fantastic job of not giving away why she was hiking in front of us and captured the moment and our emotions perfectly. Would highly recommend!
Terri helped us narrow down our options - Horseshoe Bend, the Grand Canyon, and eventually Sedona. We wanted our wedding to be our first wedded adventure, and Terri was just the person we needed. -Chelsea and Tanner

I highly recommend going to Terri for capturing your special moments. She is an incredible photographer, my fiancé and I are SO blown away by the results. Terri is also very efficient and easy to work with. I was impressed with her eye for beautiful backgrounds, use of natural light, and ease of setting up shots. We were able to accomplish taking a lot of unique photos in a short amount of time. Terri is outgoing, friendly, and very skilled in her craft. I promise you will not be disappointed!
Terri made our moment far beyond anything I ever could have possibly imagined. The moment was PERFECT. She not only captured it all but throughout our experience she used her camera to capture every bit of emotion me and my fiance felt with every photo she took. This was the most amazing moment of my life and Terri captured it all exactly how I saw it. The perfect girl in the perfect scene, being asked to spend the rest of her life w me. I cannot thank her enough and want to assure you, all your expectations will not only be met, but exceeded.
This experience was beyond belief and from the bottom of our hearts, we cannot thank Terri enough.
